I was just wondering what everyone thinks is the the best album out there. i have the roosevelt and sacajawea dansco albums. I am now looking to get books for ikes, kennedys, jeffersons, lincolns. anyone use whitman, littleton,or the offcial mint albums?? Has anyone tried those new Dansco albums slips. Suppose to protect silver from toning..any opinions on this. its finally time to move out of my Whitman folders its only been 20 years.
My opinion, which is usually worthless, is Whitman Classic Albums. I've had Littleton and the method of page connections irritated me. Dansco is much better constructed and you can tell that by the weight and they are durable. However, I hate the color, slightly larger size and not easily obtainable in the Midwest area. Don't even know if they make replacement pages or blanks. Copper coins in a Brownish page just has no apeal. They are much richer looking but then how many people put coin albums out on display. I use the Whitman Classic Albums, not the folders, due to the ability to purchase pages for expansion in this area easily, on web sites, at coin stores and coin shows. Additional pages come pre dated or blank. Whitman also sells rub off decals that look goldish in color to match the rest of the Albums letters and numbers. The Cent Album Binder is large enough to put pages in it for 1909 to present with still room to spare.
I really like Intercept Shield holders and albums for my more expensive coins and sets. Whitmans are nice too, especially due to additional page availability.
Be careful with the Barber Whitman albums for quarters. Lower grade ones (ag's) fall into the center of the album.
I have always liked dansco albums they give a nice presentation when you show your coins and the whole album has nice eye appeal.
