There are quite a few "how are (objects) made" on YouTube. I can't imagine these to be too difficult considering that these were made probably at least 50 years ago. Would like to know the processes. I see them constructed out of thick paperboard. I would imagine they would have had some metal dies used to punch holes out. Newer technology might be able to just laser cut this. This paperboard is then glued together with some faux leather like material with holes already precut. Clear inserts are added in. The holder would have had additional material to support the screw joint and cap and fancy embossing. What other processes are involved? What companies would be happy to entertain custom made albums? That said, what and when is the first known album made?
There is a seller on eBay that either makes their own albums or has them made by someone. He has a great deal of more unique albums.
Glad to see them back, up and running. Lot of folks have been waiting for them to get their Sumas, Washington ops started.
Yes, I've been following their progress for a while, which is moving at a snail's pace but appears to be moving in the right direction at least.
Do you know whether they are also starting to resume production of slip covers for their albums? Lord, I hated bid fighting on Ebay for those.
They are not (yet) according to the website, but they haven't updated the site since April, so who knows?
