How can you tell if you have a real clipped cent. I got one in some change, but I'm not sure if it's the real deal. I tried to upload a pic, but the site said the file was too big. What the heck do I do about that?

They are very common as an error type coin. I've noticed a massive increase at coin shows lately for error coins and some of the most common ones are the offsets and the clipped coins such as yours. The worst part of a clipped coin is how easy it is to use a small grinding wheel and then a minature buffer to make a clipped appearing coin.

Many error coins are easy to fake...but they all leave tell-tale signs of their forgery. A true clipped planchet will show the Blakesley effect....not something that can be faked easily, if at all.
