I was at a "Farmer's Market" tonight that has about 5 different coin shops. One guy, who sold antiques, not coins, had a blank clipped planchet. Basically, it had a the amount of curved clippage as the picture below but was blank. I couldn't tell if it was copper or zinc because it was in a display case. I would have bought it but the guy wasn't there. I don't think its gonna sell so if its worth a lot, I can go get it. What would it be worth?
Blank planchet with a curved clip. A 1909 S VDB 100% off center with a curved clip would be worth thousands. That's my attempt at humor. I suspect that what you are describing is worth a few dollars or maybe $10. I believe that modern cent blanks are made outside the mint & can therefore be purchased for little money. The older copper blanks were mint products and more expensive. Perhaps you should ask the guys in the error coin section.
