Perhaps this is a silly question, and possibly discussed to death, but I've seen quite a number of posts regarding some coins that have been cleaned... How does one tell a "cleaned" coin from one that hasn't been cleaned?

    Thanks!

Small scratches, buffing marks, uneven or unnatural toning, dark areas around details are common signs. It takes time to develop an eye for it.

    I’m still learning how

It also helps to take a few low value coins [preferably pocket change] and clean them yourself using several different methods. Then compare the "look" to similar uncirculated coins.
