Cleaning ancients with..?

    Has anyone heard of trying bore (gun) cleaner on ancients? Just curious, as it is something I haven't heard of someone trying.

    Its a harsh corrosive designed to scrub off built up powder.

    No, I have never tried it, but would not dare to use such a powerful chemical on coins. Heck, you can read damage that olive oil has done to coins, well this is about 1000 times stronger.

    some bore cleaners also contain ammonia to remove copper left in the barrel from copper jacketed bullets so those would really do a number on bronzes

    Thanks :) I don' try to clean ancients anymore, but was just curious.I don't know to much about bore cleaner..
