So i was curious if anyone could provide some advice on what to look for to identify a "cleaned" coin.

    *How can you tell?
    *Heavy Scratches on the surface?
*Do clean coins tend to have an unnatural color or patina to them?

What are the most common or popular products that people use to clean coins? I'm thinking of picking some "cleaning" supplies up so i can practice on common coins to better be able to spot these.

    What does "whizzed" mean?

    thanks everyone!

what to look for on cleaned coins
    1. lack of luster on ms coins, hairline scratches, dull glassy look on circulated coins.
    2. On a whizzed coin you look for lack of cartwheel luster, build up of metal flow around the devices ie: letters, stars, etc
    3. Yes most cleaned coins lose there patina as when you dip a coin you are removing a fine layer of the coins surface. Dipping a copper coin will turn it pink
