Claudius Sestertius

    I had been looking for a Claudius EX SC PP OB CIVES SERVATOS Sestertius (RIC I, Claudius, 112) for some time. When I finally got this one the patina was so dark I had to photograph it against an almost white background. Still, it is very well centered with complete inscriptions.

    That is a nice coin with clear reverse inscriptions (which I really like) -- I see yours is the earlier issue (RIC I, 96) before his investiture as Pater Patriae (PP) "Father of the Country".

    That is a very nice coin with that lovely wreath design!
