By mid 270 Cyzicus mint was already established with a consistent style and regular output when it ditched the SPQR exergue while also continuing the types that were devised there while still under the influence of Smyrna.
By the 4th issue, new types also emerged, and one of the most important was based on and also bound to replace the most popular VICTORIAE GOTHIC - and that type is VICTOR GERMAN. During this 4th (and last) issue at Cyzicus the 2 types were minted in parallel and circulated together:

CLAUDIUS II GOTHICUS AE22mm 3.25g Antoninian (VF, patina)

AV: IMP CLAVDIVS P F AVG; radiate, cuirassed and draped with paludamentum, seen from rear bust r. ••• (?) underneath bust.

REV: VICTORIAE GOTHIC; Trophy of arms (helmet l.); on each side, a bound and std. captive in oriental dress.

    EXE: -

REF: RIC V-1 252var. (unlisted for 3rd officina), RIC Online #1006 rare, only 3 specs. recorded, another example sold by Münzen & Medaillen GmbH (DE) Auction 20 Lot #472 10. October 2006; 4th issue of Cyzicus mint, 3rd officina, mid 270 – September 270AD.

CLAUDIUS II GOTHICUS AE21mm 3.4g Antoninian (aVF)

AV: IMP CLAVDIVS P F AVG; radiate, cuirassed and draped with paludamentum, seen from rear bust r.

REV: VICTOR GERMAN; Trophy of arms (helmet l.); on each side, a bound and std. captive in oriental dress.

    EXE: -

REF: RIC V-1 247, RIC Online #997 scarce, 10 examples cited, 4th emission of Cyzicus mint, mid-sept. 270AD.
This new type is the follow-up of VICTORIAE GOTHIC, the most famous type for Gothicus. Its scarcity comes from the fact that it was only minted for a couple of months.

Both types allude to Claudius's high profile campaign and victory against german tribes that culminated with his greatest feat, the victory at Naissus.

Good find. I think these GERMAN variations are scarcer than GOTHIC ones.

When I was looking for other examples of German, I didnt find nearly as many as Gothic.

That is because the GOTHIC type was actively issued since mid 269 in 3 distinct variations: long legend + SPQR exergue, short legend + SPQR exergue and short legend and nothing in the exergue.
