A piece of my gold type set. It's well circulated, but appealing. ANACS certified at one point. Opinions?
Well this coin has seen better days, but to get it in the condition of "better days" might drain your wallet! LOL! I love this one, and every one in your type set! Very nice
There are 3 known varieties for this date all with unique obverse and reverses. This one was identified by John McCloskey as 3C or 3rd obverse and 3rd reverse. Identifiers include a fancy 8 in the date, no bud in the branches, no tongue on the eagle, the 5 of "5D" is not under the arrow feather and the D of "5D" is only 50 percent under the branch. It looks to have an old crust but not original but still attractive. Grade wise I'd say VF30 sounds about right.
