Clashed Circulated Gold

    Two of the things that attracted me to Morgan dollar varieties were die breaks and clashed letter transfers. I find the die clashing on circulated gold to be just as interesting.

    Here is a worn circulated 1855 $1 type 2. Had to tilt the coin slightly to show the profile clashing.

    The coin looks a little different when viewed straight on.

    Wow thats some good clashing.

    Ive always been a fan of clashing, I even like them more on Ancients.

    Very nice. I like good clashing.

    The thinner the coin the more common clashing is.

    I don't see any die cracks. Are you making reference to the OP's coin?

    Clashing is a very intresting subject,thats one reason I love those Morgans.
