Hello all, I have come across a few common Civil War Tokens, all of which I am familiar with. However, I know some varieties of these tokens can be valuable and highly sought after. Does anyone have access to a variety ID book for these tokens and can help to attribute them? I also don't quite know how to price them, so that would be helpful as well. Hope all are well, Evan I am most interested in the Knickerbocker currency. I see many online, but the reverse doesn't match as mine has arrows pointing away from the stars at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock.
I don't have a book, but I been collecting a batch of civil war tokens. I have two versions of the middle token. One is graded AU and I gave fifty for it. The sought after version says "spoot him on the spot".... I have that one graded EX45 and gave $100.00 for it.
You should take close-up pictures of each token to have us attribute them. There are tiny differences between the varieties, especially the "Shoot them on the spot" pieces which require a search in the "die-a-grams" area of the book. Here are two I think I could attribute. Knickerbocker currency 255/392 is an R-3 Washington piece 111/340 is an R-3 Although they are slightly scarcer, they still fall into the common pricing category.
This one is for the Personal Collection... so I don't need to know Great - so I can sell without concern. Thank you so much!
I remember when you bought those from a coin talk member... I didn't have the money then, but I wish I got them. Shoot him on the spoot!!! It's like a Canadian accent
