I have this 1863 Gustavo’s Lindenmueller Civil War beer token kicking around in my box of tokens and coins. I found info on the token but was wondering if it has any value? Thanks IMG_2361.jpeg IMG_2360.jpeg IMG_2361.jpeg

I love this token; however they are very common, and inexpensive except in high grade.

The story goes that these were accepted as fares on local transit (trolly), however when the transit company went to Lindenmueller to turn them in, he refused to redeem them for standard currency. The transit company got stuck with thousands of these tokens.

It’s a great looking token and yes it has value. All Civil War Tokens have value. Yours is in nice condition but I don’t know it’s value. Try searching for sold examples on eBay to get an idea or take it to your local coin shop. Whatever it’s worth, I wouldn’t sell it.

It's definitely a keeper. Civil war era tokens have value and are very collectable. Thanks for sharing.
