As I have learned through my short time collecting, usually everyone has a niche they collect in. After quite some time I've decided that I'd like to collect coins and currency from the civil war era, both union and conferdate types. Is there someone I can go to get a rough idea of what is available in this category, and maybe even some dealers where I could buy some. I'm about an hour outside Philly to give an idea of travel range. Any information would be a great help. Bill
Go to your local public library and consult the 19th Century Standard Catalog of World Coins and the Standard Catalog of Paper Money, to get an idea of what's out there to collect.
