Ok so I'm relatively new to the forums but this fun idea entered my head. I enjoy my coins for their art and history...the Morgan from the wild west, the peace from right after ww1, and the merc from ww2. I'd love to have a civil war era to complete my history love, but from an artistic stand point nothing has called to me.

So here's where y'all come in. Post a pic of your civil war coin of choice a blurb about it and why you think I should collect it.

Let's have fun with it. :D

The Two cent piece. You shouldn't collect it because it'll make it easier for me

Patriotic Tokens are always a fun way to collect small copper with endless variety at reasonable premiums.

Got to be the 1864 two cent piece. It came about because of the coin shortage during the war, the composition was related to the coin hoarding during the war, the shield and the crossed arrows are reminiscent of the conflict, and then there is the motto IGWT which came about because of the war and it was the only coin during the war that carried the motto.
