Civil war and hard times tokens thread?

I have seen threads saying post an IKE, post a Morgan, even Exonumia but I would like to see a thread just for Civil War tokens and Hard Time tokens. I have found several of these coins in different threads but not in a specific thread dedicated to just that have I overlooked it?

You're correct, there hasn't been a CWT thread to post only those tokens that I remember. Looks like you have started one...

 

Ha, I am just kind of getting back into coins and have been looking for just this sort of thread.

This isn't Civil War, but does qualify as 'hard times' I think:

 

The only one I ever owned, and too bad I parted with it some time ago.

 

Why restrict it? It should be open to all tokens. Those from Alaska for instance, can be very old and very valuable.

Awesome tokens maybe the powers to be will change the name of this thread to Post Your Tokens, and we will get to see alot more of them. Thanks to those of you that did post i love em.

Thanks! Ha, I just had to look up what that meant. Great information. You're right about the history. One reason I like these coins is because they put modern problems in perspective.

 

How true. I should have mentioned my source of attribution. I use "Patriotic Civil War Tokens" by George and Melvin Fuld, 4th Edition.

That is a Fuld 202/434, in copper it has a Rarity of 1. See the Fuld reference noted above in post #13.

 

I've got two CW tokens also. Sadly, I have no pics, and they're both in a display I put up in my local library.
