As many of you know there are many fake US coins from places like China...BUT for some of us a quality reproduction is as close as we will get to owning the real thing. I like the circulated reproductions that were made in China many years ago..they are not stamped "copy" and they dont have the cheap proof like appearence that you see on American reproductions. I was looking for some of these as filler coins on ebay and it was upsetting becuase I noticed alot of people trying to pass off these coins as real, and people were bidding them up to hundreds of dollars!!! Does anyone know where I can get one of these circulated reproductions at the price they're worth (very little..lol)...im not paying hundreds of dollars for one!!!
you need to report this fraud on e-bay. and not very many people sell them as the unscrupulous tend to purchase them and then pass them on as authentic
I tried to report a few bad listings..but ebay wont do anything becuase the seller usually doesnt say if its real or fake...i guess they only pull the listing if the seller says its real and its an obvious fake..
there are some coins that I will never be able to buy also, as much as I won't them but this hobby is all about the love of collecting coins. FAKE( one that is not genuine or authentic)] now that said for me I would rather have a empty hole in my album then to put a fake coin in it. Now this does not answer the question you asked about where you can buy fake coins but I hope you will think about it befor you do.
That is fine, but some of us DO like and/or collect contemporary counterfeits. Counterfeit bust halves are even collected by die variety.
CONDER Also there is a difference between a reproduction and a counterfeit coin I should have said that at first.I hope that clears up for you what I was trying to say.
According to ebays policy if its a repro they HAVE to state its a repo, reproduction, fake, copy....ect. I just went through this with that fake 1804 fake dime I posted earlier.
HI ERWIZARD That is very true that is there policy, ( you sell on e-bay ) do you think that there are some people that sell a coin and do not no they have a fake ? I would think if they found out they would be more than happy to remove it from sale I don't do e-bay just asking.
