Merry Christmas to all and I hope Santa brought you everything you wished for. As for me, Santa was quite nice to me, so I guess I wasn't on his naughty list this year. First, I received a very nice plague/garden stepping stone from one of my sons. Too nice to put in the garden, so I will find a place to hang it, probably on my front porch. My other son gifted me this very nice poster from the Roman Emperor Project which used the neural-net tool Artbreeder, Photoshop and historical references to create photoreal portraits of Roman Emperors. I plan to put this under glass as my desk pad. And lastly, Santa () gifted me this nice Cistophoric Tetradrachm of Domitian with a military theme: DOMITIAN AR Cistophoric Tetradrachm OBVERSE: IMP CAESAR DOMITIANVS AVG P M COS VIII, laureate head right of Domitian REVERSE: Legionary eagle (Aquila) between two standards; one surmounted by a banner, the other by a hand Struck at Rome for circulation in Asia, 82 AD 10.39 g 25.5mm RIC II 843; RSC 667, RPC 865; BMC 252 Again, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas @Bing I never knew about that artbreeder site, its fascinating and worthy of much attention. Thanks for sharing.

Merry Christmas, everyone! My only numismatic gift was the second edition of Hartill's "Cast Chinese Coins" (I've been getting by with an old 1st edition), but it seems that everyone enjoyed their presents (the family held a Zoom session and opened them "together" online). We're having another Zoom session at 4 PM to share dinner together. Hope everyone's holiday is safe and happy.
Merry Christmas all!! Bing the Plague is awesome! it started Snowing here about 1am, we got about 3 three fresh inches on top of what was left of last weeks foot or more, so a White Christmas here in WV!
..kool stuff and Merry Christmas @Bing ..o wow @Roman Collector ...how kool is that?!?!...i've never even SEEN one o dose!...
Merry Christmas, Bing, and thank you for your service! My wife is very supportive of my collecting and found these on an Etsy store made from some sort of gilded pewter for me for Christmas. It'll be nice to be able to keep an analog out on my desk!
In the last 24 hours we have watched three different movies of Dickens 'Christmas Carol' including the BBC/FX heavily augmented one that clocks in over three hours. My wife has just reread the book and has a book discussion Monday at the library. Movies are to books like historical fiction is to history. Any resemblance to truth is pure coincidental.
Great thread and coins @Bing and all!!! I was spoiled rotten by my dad who bought me near half of the Sassanid empire. I'll share better pics when time allows (the toning on these is bananas) I'll have some fun, trying to, identify these: As well, pops bought me a caliper so I don't have to measure coins with a tape anymore. And the little lady knocked it out of the park with a BRONZE AGE GOLDEN SHIELD BOSS!!! Bronze Age Gold Domed Boss Mount 2nd millennium BC A sheet gold domed mount with attachment loop to the underside. 2.39 grams, 28mm (1"). Fine condition.
