    Chinese 1 Yuan Notes

Here are a couple of one yaun notes my father got while he was in the service during WWII. Any information about them would be of tremendous assistance.

Dad was a Marine and stationed in/near Peking at the onset of the war. He narrowly escaped being captured because he was onboard ship (unloading cargo on 8 Dec 1941) when it all started. These along with some chinese coins were in a small overnight bag he'd taken aboard. He lost everything which was left behind including some good friends...

They are 1 yuan notes. Both issued by The Union Reserve Bank of China. The top one was issued in the 27th Year of the Republic, that's 1938 AD.

The year may be shown on the other side of the bottom note.
