These two 1914 & 1919 China Dollars were found in a barn. They appear to me to be poor quality cast counterfeits. Their weights are: 1914 - 22.06 gr.; 1919 - 18.3 gr. There are casting bumps on the surface and the reeding isn't uniform. Just sharing as I had my hopes up, but alas. I can't even list them as counterfeits on eBay.

Thanks for posting the examples. The bumps on the surface are very distinct! I haven't bought East Asian crown-sized silver in decades, mostly because there are so many fakes, some of which I've heard are quite hard to spot. Here are a couple I bought in the 90s when silver was cheap (and fakes were less prevalent). I've always wondered if they were authentic or not. I think I bought them from a reputable coin dealer, but he didn't specialize in East Asian coins. A.jpg B.jpg Rev.jpg Ob.jpg

I wanted to list them as counterfeits, recognizing some people collect counterfeits. Proceeds to charity and starting at 99 cents, but eBay doesn't allow counterfeits even if they are listed as such. So, I decided to post photos here so others recognize the characteristics of these counterfeits.
