Ming rebel Sun Ko Wang coinage, a really nice example. The scratch marks on both sides are file adjustment marks done at the time of issue.

I purchased this in a large lot of Chinese coins from Frank Robinson of Albany, NY. He is a retired judge and has been in the Asian and ancient coin market since the 1960's. Before the "cultural patrimony" nonsense, Frank would get large lots of mainly Chinese coins from suppliers in China and wholesale them out. He knew this area like the back of his hand and anything you got from him was always the real deal.

Cool! I have a candareen from a different Ming rebel, the Prince Yongming (also called Prince of Gui), using the reign title Yong Li c.1646-59:

My coin is also from Frank Robinson, bought (as a single coin) about 10 years ago. Frank is still active, but I have noticed the Chinese sections of his price lists have gotten a lot shorter in recent years.
