Chemainus dollar.

I found a Chemainus dollar in a book. From what I read it is a privately printed note. Can anyone tell me more about it and are they collectable?

I have never heard of the Chemainus dollar before, from looking at the links it appears as though that died out after a bit of time. I have heard of Salt Spring Islands dollars and have some examples:





These are still circulating from what I have heard.
