My dad sent me my worthless coin collection from about 25 years ago, mostly foreign junk, but also 3 sealed Cheerios cents still sealed in the cards. Are these worth more than 3 cents or do they go in the trash? Thanks JB
@Atarian . I found an interesting article on just this subject alone.>>>Are 2000 Cheerios Pennies Worth Anything? See The Value Of A Special Cheerios Penny Here! | U.S. Coins Guide (thefuntimesguide.com)
You could risk it and cut them out to see if any of them are WAM'S.3 possibilities total, seems like it's worth a shot.only around 2 bucks each as they are but finding a WAM would be a lot better and if a bust then just spend them.
I say.... Don't risk opening especially when their trading for between $5 -$10!! This is according to funtimesguide.com.
I have several cereal box coins, pennies and nickels, I keep them all. Let my heirs worry about worth, I'll enjoy them while I'm here!
here is a quick look at what's on Ebay ending soon with bids - everyone can make their own assumption.
I do the same. These are a neat piece of collecting history, and hopefully attracted a few collectors along the way.
Although there is a die marker on the obverse for the enhanced tail feather dollar. I don't believe that there is a common die marker for the cent. On the cheerios dollar there is a die gouge below the date at the rim.
