Nice exposure, lighting, and contrast. Very, very nice and on par with the best photographers on here, IMO. While the focus/sharpness is getting much better, in all honesty you are still lacking a bit of sharpness. I'd suggest that you downsample (i.e. resize smaller) until they appear sharp at the pixel level (i.e. at full size). You might also apply a bit of sharpening preferably on the final pics, after you've resized them for the web. You might have also reached the resolving limit for your camera (i.e. lens and sensor), and your full size photos could in fact be as sharp as possible and still portray this kind of sharpness -- so please don't take the above as a hit on your skill, but rather observations of the output. Respectfully...Mike
Thank you for the input! I do not take this kkind of constructive criticism as an insult in the least. Give me a few minutes and I will post even sharper ones. You are definitely right that they could be better. When I first posted, I looked back and saw that it could use a little improvement so I changed it to "Finally got my pictures to be kind of clear".
Your photos are really looking good. Just curious, have you bought Numismatic Photography by Mark Goodman yet? If no, then your pictures will get scary good once you do. Great job & keep up the good work.
I keep thinking when I have a spare day, I am going to spend some time trying to start photographing some of my coins. So it is helpful to see others' photo skills getting better with practice. Please keep posting. Your photos have a bit of illustration or liquid quality (not quite the right word choice). Think Mike Printz at Whitlow (one of the best) or Stacks and you get the idea.
