    Cmon Bone, Thats an obvious die crack, it happened during the big earthquake of 1833

    ROTFL, maybe so, maybe so. I'm going to go and check all my 1833 coinage to see if they have hidden cracks which can be attributed to this (little known) catastrophic event... ;)

    Thats a scratch. Look at the reverse it has an X cut in it.:headbang:

    that coin was in good condition until someone scratched the hell outof it! very sad.

    Ahhhhh yes... the infamous X shaped die crack !

    ... and made from clashed dies too... the "X" on the obverse shows on the reverse. :goof:
