Went on a bit of an ancient coin shopping spree in the last few weeks. So here is the first of the spree. COMMODUS AR Denarius Rome 183-184 AD M COMMODVS ANTON AVG PIVS, Laureate head right. PM TR P VIIII IMP VI COS IIII P P, modius with corn ears 3.54 g, 18mm RIC 81, RSC 447a Found in a local antique store in a cardboard and plastic holder from Littleton Coin Company. They called it a sestertious lol. At $39 I had to get it out of that ugly holder. Looks a bit harshly cleaned but I still like it. What are your opinions? Got any harshly cleaned ancients?
