Set up was Thursday from 3-8 pm. After we were set up, a group of us decided to leave a little early so we could have dinner at Spencer’s Steakhouse which is in the Doubletree hotel. It’s one of my favorite steakhouses! We were seated right next to this private room that had an amazing selection of wines on display!

We brought three different bottles of wine to share with everyone for dinner – I brought an Italian wine that my son had sent me from Italy. It was quite yummy!

Then I headed off to Bay 101 casino which is just 1 block away. I played 6/12 limit but didn’t win so I headed back to the hotel and called it a night!

The public poured into the show on Friday and I was busy throughout the day. There was lots of signage around the area and right in front of the hotel.

This sign was displayed inside the door – do you see what is “wrong” with this picture?

I was even able to buy a few nice coins at the show!

Here are some of the exhibits that were displayed right outside the front door of the show:

Across from the exhibits was Scott Western, the best coin supply guy around!

Saturday I went back to Bay 101 but had to wait over an hour to get on a table – the whole casino was packed. I soon discovered that they were having a huge celebration for the Chinese New Year “Year of the Dragon”!

This guy is tossing money all around while the “dragon” gathered it up!

Bay 101 has a very large poker room - this is a view of part of the poker room.

Tim also brought these very yummy homemade brownies and the largest donut I’ve ever seen!

Saturday night we went to Bella Mia’s in downtown San Jose for dinner. Wow! The atmosphere was really nice and the food was absolutely delicious! We also brought these very tasty wines….

The show is open tomorrow (Sunday) but I need to visit my very ill aunt so I will pack up and head out early for my 6 hour drive back. Overall, the show was satisfactory – it wasn’t gangbuster, but a good solid average club show. Ray Johnson and his helpers do a heck of a job putting on this show, and they deserve a lot of credit for all their hard work.

I will only have a short time of rest before I need to get organized and head out to Long Beach on Wednesday! Hope to see some of you there!!!

It was a pretty great show, but nothing compared to the santa clara one. Too bad they closed it. I saw your table, by the way. The error was pretty cool! how much would something like that cost?
