Well, gone are the care-free days when my only major expenses were coins and booze (college is amazing!). Today I bought a car, and will be making payments on it. Bye bye coins. :goof: In response, I'll probably be selling a lot of the more replaceable coins in my collection. (Keep an eye out on the open forum) But this is me we're talking about guys, I can't just go cold turkey! From now on I'll only be buying tesserae and other related ancient tokens, still expensive, but less common so I won't be as tempted. Generally, I'll only be adding unique coins from here on out. Wish me luck!
It's like John Lennon said, "Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans". Don't give up on the good stuff, Ard!
Good luck Ardatirion, I've tried to quit buying but I believe it will take a support group. I have slowed down a bit and have been concentrating on types so I guess it is possible, although I've expended into bullion also so it's probably a wash. What kind of car? Something good I hope for your coin sacrifice! Edit: Booze must have priority tho!
Ahhh. Booze and coins. Two of my favorite things. Transportation is kind of a neccessity though, huh?
Went there first. But their cars (and prices) just didn't do it for me. Ended up going with a lightly used Nissan Altima. Its such a jump from the 93 Sundance I was driving before! I know I could never just stop collecting: I had a dealer contact ME this morning about a coin. That's a new feeling.
I'm looking at the 21st through 26th of July, but its not final yet. Anyone know of a cheap hotel or good hostel in London? I'm having a heck of a time finding anything decent, particularly on my budget.
G m After working for GM for over 30 years(always purchasing or leasing GM cars), i would have liked to have gone car shopping with you. It would have been interesting to see where/why GM is missing sales to potential customers. As a buyer you have freedom to choose your favorite. I think that GM as a company needs to escort potential buyers completely through their car buying experience to see where they are losing sales. My personal experience driving GM products has been a pleasure(i would rate them a 99 out of 100). And i have owned a ton of GM products over the years, many driven 100,000 -150,000 plus miles. So it's really hard for me to understand when i hear people say that GM products don't measure up.
