I read that there were changes to the $1 and $20 being printed with the 2006 year on it that people who know what to look for can spot but never heard the "details"...
Thats news to me. I know there are $20's being printed on different presses .. Clembo broke the story about that a few days ago ... and their has been a story printed in the new CoinWorld about it as well (i believe it was that magazine). But the differences in the $20 on the different presses is intentioanl, and not an error. As for collectibility, i guess it coems down to if one of the pressses has a much lower printing then the other... its anybodys guess. As for the $1, i have heard nothing about a redesign, or any type of change to that note... alot of folks want it eliminated altogether... so a redesign is questionable. Anyone else hear of a $1 redesign?
the notes being printed on the new 50 note press, while still in the 32 note sheet format, have been assigned MUCH larger than normal face plate #'s, i think in the 400's range? while they are printed in the millions and will become the norm, i think the early examples from the 32 note sheets may carry a small premium later if found in crisp unc condition. the newly re-designed $100.00 "technicolor" notes will be the first to be run on 50 note sheets, or so the treasury tells me we will see jmho
