a friend told me that in a couple of years the nickel may have many different changes to the back of the coin.
http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/index.cfm?flash=yes&action=nickel_series there will also be more coins in 2005
then do you think it would be a good idea to keep the new nickel being circulated, if the appearence will change?
personally, if i was you I would collect one coin of each mint mark of every design (thats two nickels for the current design, two nickels for the keelboat design, and so on.......) or you can just hoard every single new nickel that you find, like many people did with the bicentennial coins (despite the low value of bicentennials, some people are WAY to overprotective of their pieces) If you know what I mean
but, its initially good as a longterm investment (not to mention an inexpensive one too) id say its a good idea if youve got the time
after the state quarters finish their run in the near future, the design is scheduled to go back to the eagle reverse (virginia legislators are trying to get it to stay that way forever). We're still not 100% sure upon the fate of the quarter
actually, a lot of people absolutely hate the idea of 50 STATE QUARTERS. the last thing they need are 50 state dimes!
when the state quarters first came out I was excited (well, we all were) but now some people are realizing that they might be too much of a good thing by the year 2009
i still collect the state quarters I spend a lot of time reorgainizing my coin holder set of them (the quarter map) and looking for the new designs)
Want to take a look into the dealers crystal ball? Texas Florida Michigan Colorado Hawaii Big States. Don't think people aren't watching as these come out.
Well a lot with depend on good designs, which seem to be rare. But large populations have a way of turning coins valuable. Another one to watch is Nevada. If a "CC" mark is included in the design we could very well see a monster coin.
do you think they're gonna put a Carson City initial into the coin? I havent heard anything about that yet.
