Hi, does anyone have much experience dealing with Coin Grading Services in the UK? http://www.cgs-uk.biz/home. I have acquired a number of their coins and they seem very accurate grading and condition wise. They use a 100 point grading scale? I would love to hear feedback from other users who have any experience of CGS. Thanks. CP.
Interesting, 100 point system. Do they have an online photograde system to show how they grade? Do you own any slabs? If you do, please post them so we can all take a look.
CGS Grading Standards Hi, their system is as follows: 80 – 100 Uncirculated; 75 - 78 Almost Uncirculated; 60 – 70 Extremely Fine; 40 – 59 Very Fine; 20 – 39 Fine; 1 – 19 Good, Very Good. I have attached a coupe of images so that you can see what it is like. I find them more accurate because of their expertise in British Coins. They have extensive specimens and know the nuances of details on the coins. Their reference library is very extensive. Here are photos of a 1847 VF40 Obv and Rev. This makes it just over the borderline from F39. Cheers, Craig.
