From what I understand, you can't send them in yourself, but have to have a dealer send them in for you.

I would say it depends on the coin and what it may grade as. If the coin is worth $20 and you spend whatever it costs to have it graded, then to make a profit on it you would have to recoup the costs associated with having it graded.

Maybe I am not the most qualified to give you a more detailed explanation, but just hang in here a bit and someone will be sure to tell you exactly what you need to know.

That dependes on a few things....sometimes the coins aren't worth getting graded.....so #1 it depends on the coin.
Then it depends on who you want to grade them...
    PCGS/NGC/ANACS/ICG?....

Each will have rules unlike others...
Post a list of coins you want graded and the grades and then maybe we can suggest what place to send them too!

ANACS is the only major grading service that will accept direct submissions, no membership needed. Check http://www.anacs.com for details. They do seem to be having a hard time keeping to their "guaranteed" turn-around times though. Their new slabs are really nice; easy to see the grade and you can actually see the edge of the coin.
