I'm interested in buying a high quality (MS66) certified Walking Liberty Half. I'm looking at something like a 1945 (something with low mintage numbers but isn't going to bankrupt me). What would be a reasonable price for a coin like that? Any suggestions for other dates would be great! I'm trying to keep my price range between $150 and $300. Thanks in advance!
Any Philly date in the 1940's would probably be in your price range. Before you plop down your money, check the strike. Look for a nice full hand and head.
I agree with Treashunt. Also, you may want to look at an S-Mint coin in a 64 or 65 as well. Also, from what I have seen, for many of the dates in that range, it seems to me that about 1 out of every 10-20 coins has a good strike, so look them over for a nice one.
tcaore is right! Find a strong strike in a 1941 S or 1942 S (even a 1943 S) and you will have a true treasure.
