http://www.ebay.com/itm/1858O-Seate..._Individual&hash=item460672d93b#ht_500wt_1058 The number does not work for me. Anyone else have that problem? Looks real and like an older one so it should be there on the PCGS site.
I couldn't get it to verify either. I looked at his other offerings, and most were home slabbers. Follow your gut.
Not necessarily fake. Not long ago I purchased a slabbed Oregon commemorative in an old PCGS slab that wasn't in the database. PCGS said that lack of entry has happened with some of the old slabs, and after sending them pictures they verified the coin and entered the cert number in the database. Now I always check the cert number first, and if it checks out OK. If not I avoid it - not worth the hassle to get the number in the database. I hate it when they only show one side of a coin.
wait a minute. are you saying igs grading is a bogus grading company. they graded this coin f-12 Dings. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1851-Large-...04?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item4606739ff4
Are you being sarcastic? Or are you confusing them with ICG? Many of the basement slabbers use acronyms similar to the real grading companies.
has anyone heard of dsgs??? just brought 10000 dollars worth of slabbed coins for 2300 dollars all dsgs?
Nope. But I've heard of SGS. It may be related or just another basement slabbing company. http://www.cointalk.com/t85258/ http://coins.about.com/od/coinbuyingadvice/qt/ebay_coin_fraud.htm
I love SGS coins! They make great stress balls. Throw them at a wall, at the floor, out the window and the slab shatters, the coin becomes worth more and you get the fun of breaking something! My last PF70 SGS coin... The obverse had so many spots. I love their website. It says something about trying to become the ANA's official service. I laughed so hard at that.
