AUGUST 26, 27, 28 CENTRAL STATES NUMISMATIC SOCIETY CONVENTION DEARBORN, MICHIGAN. HYATT REGENCY HOTEL. The bourse floor has 200 dealers. The educational forum on Saturday will feature colonial coin expert, Dr. Dan Friedus. There will be (semi-)annual meetings of specialty coin clubs. The exhibits are an educational experience in themselves. Admission is free, of course. If you live with 500 miles of Detroit, this show is worth a 10 hour drive and an overnight in a motel.
I am lining up people for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. This is MSNS's 50th anniversary year, so we are proud to have been chosen to host the CSNS convention.
More like 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, with a shorter day, 10:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday. In addition to the bourse floor, both clubs (MSNS and CNSNS) will have their board meetings. As always, there will be judged exhibits. The educational forum at 1:30 PM on Saturday will be on "Colonial Coins and Currency."
