    That's a filled die error. They are of no value (except to those who want it), but cool finds, nonetheless.

    A coin is only worth what someone will pay. If you dont want to keep it, try to sell it to someone collecting errors.

    I have seen this particularly on cents struck on thick planchets. maybe Mike can offer an explanation as to a possible reason for that. I have several coins on obviously thicker planchets that have the same effect.
