I have had this cent error for about 30 yrs. Just thought I would share and maybe more people will post theirs.
Thanks. I do have a question about these types of errors and how they get circulated. How does a coin like the above nickel get into circulation? I mean, they can't fit into a coin wrapper can they? I am guessing they got circulated from bags?
I assume that you meant 'cent'. Anyway, they are machine wrapped, and off centers like this one are easy to fall into the wrapping machine. not uneven enough to pop out. Although, there would be a slight bulge in the wrapper. Then some cashier get it and just passes it off, to get rid of it.
No problem. It is just that some of these errors are very elongated and therefore wouldn't fit very well in a wrapper. I would think it would jam-up the roll and put a halt to that roll being wrapped. Just a quirky thought, it doesn't keep me up most nights though.
Too bad my cent error has seen better days. It sustained all that damage prior to me getting a hold of it so please don't report me for negligence.
