    Hi all,
I found a 2017 P Mint Mark Cent this morning while shopping at Home Depot.
Don't know why it has PMD, the cut of course, but was excited to find it.

It was at the key copy section counter. Maybe the locksmith cut it!

Pretty cool. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a few rolls of these. All that I am gonna get are the D.
It sure has the look of a tooth from a saw blade.

You can see the jaw marks. Key cutter blade sounds right but most of these blades are much fatter.

"cents struck at the Philadelphia Mint will revert in 2018 to bearing no Mint mark. "

  11. You know what would be really cool is if they limited the mintage of the P circulation strikes to less than 484,000 and only released them at my bank. :D

I think that is the first "KEY" date cent I have ever seen.

Yep. It'll take at least a year for the circulated P or S for that matter to make it here. Get flooded with D's though.

Garlicus Debt is dumb, cash is king.

We need to be on the lookout for 2017s without the P, and then 2018s with the P.

I thought the mint mark was part of the die if so wouldn't that be impossible?

There have been lazy mint employees in the past. But, you're right, would be difficult to make that mistake with the mm on the die itself.

That shouldn't be possible. The mint mark is actually on the hub now. It has been for years. In the past it was manually punched into each die. That is where the variability in mint marks came from and the occasional missed mint mark.
