    Tribe Trinovantes/Catuvellauni

He appears to have controlled most of south-eastern England, and is called "Britannorum rex" ("king of the Britons") by Suetonius

    Silver unit
    Tribe Iceni
    Anted
Back to back Crescent with 2 dots between
    Horse + T

Van Arsdell 711 is an Anted tribe stater, minted c. 1-25 AD. This may be a sub-tribe, or a related tribe, as I saw some of this same type with the same reference number cited as Iceni. Its a great coin! I haven't been able to get one of my own yet.

By the way, an easier reference for the silver would be Spink (2002) 441. I love researching these pieces, for some reason. I'll check out the Catuvellauni bronze tommorow, probably.

Great!! I usually pass by these types of posts as I know, really know, that part of me wants to collect these ancients! and once I follow the "oldside" I know it would be hard to quit. These coins really amaze me! Are they extraordinarily expensive? Not asking exact prices, just rounded ranges. How would one grade these? Thanks, again very impressive and lovely.

Well as for price some of those were quite expensive the Potin I bought just over a year back and that cost me I think it was £70, some of the others were in a similar price bracket, the cheapest was £15 reduced LOL
As for knowing what I have thankfuly the person I buy my Celtic from does give me some very good hints some he has even put up on the Celtic coin index :smile Grading well on that one you have me, I honestly have no idea.

Very nice indeed! I imagine that these coins are much more affordable in the UK than in the states. I don't think I've ever seen any affordable British or even Gallic celtic in the US.
