I have been collecting for 30 years.....

    Not that this means anything....
In the realm of PCGs graded coins, the higher grades are really conditional raritys, and they do bring a premium....

I feel safe in saying that what we have here is a huge difference of opinion about the subject. And there is nothing wrong with discussing opposing view points. But when it gets to be personal - it ends.

There is no right or wrong - only opinions.

I am open for any discussion, and I am hardly getting personal, and in spite of catmans last response to me, I feel I can still get along with him..

    GDJMSP, Catman is hardly DCAMFranklin...

Catman if I'm understanding him right comes from a raw coin buying only perspective and feels that graded coins can cause people to lose money.

I Hate to break it to you hon, but this statement "graded coins can cause people to lose money" is an absolute fact! ;)

Well I would change the statement slightly to - buying coins, graded or raw, can cause people to lose a lot of money. Now THAT - is an absolute fact.

The key word is "can" - for unless you can fortell the future with certainty - there's a big difference between - can and will.

Well, strangely enough, I was able to see what was in the deleted thread because I had a post on the thread. I saw Catman's last post and I gotta say that he is way, way off base. When he said "It appears that you (Queenkoin) are very new to collecting and have very little knowledge of the hobby", I nearly fell off my chair.

Lucy (Queenkoin) is very knowledgable about the coin market and knows the Franklin series inside and out. On the PCGS forum, she is regarding as THE authority on Franklins, and has the respect of leading dealers and registry set collectors. She also has a keen eye for quality, and is probably as sharp a grader as any in the industry. To suggest that she is not knowledgeable about the coin market is just plain ludicrous.
