    Dear experts,

To me, part of the joy of collecting banknotes is to catalog them (put the Pick no, price paid, purchase date, etc) and place them nicely in the album and then you can always refer back to enjoy your collection :)

However, for notgeld (and also some other specialized notes), what do you put as the identity i.e. equivalent of Pick No? Is there any internationally recognized catalog ID or code ID to "name"/"categorize" these notgeld & specialized notes in which Pick No is NOT available?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Best regards

You do not specify a country of origin for the notgeld you are referencing. The Keller catalogs have numbers for German notgeld. There is a catalog of French locals from WWI-era. Also one for Belgian locals. The only way to get the numbers, however, is to buy the books.
