I have 3 castorland restrikes, a copper one, silver one, and a proof one. The red book doesn't have much information on these, and I was wondering if any of these were particularly rare?
I have no I D...but maybe someone will...I would guess that there aren't rare as most restrikes aren't. Speedy

Hi, It would be good to see some pics. The restrikes could be more recent ones and depending upon which restrike, it could only be worth about ten bucks. http://cgi.ebay.com/1796-silver-pro...goryZ528QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/1796-copper-cas...goryZ528QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Have Fun, Bill
Castorland Restrikes are still readily purchased at Monnaie de Paris. Most Medals and restrikes of just about everything ever struck in the French Mint is. Thus the modern stuff is nominally valued at about or a bit less than the Monnaie de Paris sells them for.
