Twiggs, that 1989 $1 looks like it has been chrome-plated.Can you please post a picture of the obverses of those 1c. coins.

I am surprised that the 2007 coins from Canada are out already. We don't get our 2007 coins out until near the end of this year or early next year.

I've got my first 2007 coins so far - from Ireland! It includes the Treaty of Rome commemorative 2 Euros as well.

I haven't seen them all yet and what there is out, is scarce. Seems to be alot of new mint 2006 pennies hitting the market right now.

Ive seen a few 2007 pennies, just 1 25c, 3 toonies...which I couldnt buy cuz no change on hand and havent seen one since :(

    So...a funky chrome-plated loonie..is that good?

maybe it just missed its electroplating?

Twiggs, they're a nice pair of 1c. coins.I like the look of the left-hand one,as it captures the details, including the mintmark very clearly.

I've only seen the pennies, and quarters so far, along with one lousy nickel. No 2007 dimes, loonies or toonies for me yet. Heck, my banks don't even have the rolls of 2007 yet. All I get are mixed rolls, not that I'm complaining. :)

yeah i wonder whats up with that. The 2006 coins are out by the TONS like the mint went crazy. Maybe they were expecting a washington dollar type of grab because of the new mint mark

We haven't yet seen any of the coins with the new mintmark yet out here in New Zealand, but I will be looking out for them, especially when we buy in bulk lots of currency coins.

That loonie has NOT been chrome-plated. It looks more like a dull nickel colour than chrome.
Its more than likely taken a little chemical bath and lost the bronze-electroplating.

Chrome-plating looks a bit more like this:
