Can anybody tell me a good place to get inexpensive cardboard 2x2's for all sizes of coins? Thanks in advance!
My local coin shop has them for 4 cents apiece if you buy 100, but since that's not an option for you, I also buy them on eBay for 5 cents each per hundred with free shipping. That's the best I've found online.
Another option OP to look at is going to a coin show. Usually there is one dealer there selling supplies. The bain to buying coin supplies online is shipping. It just makes online pricing too expensive to order one small thing. I order about once every three years supplies. I buy about $100-150 at a shot to make shipping economical. This is not counting books, of course. I buy those all of the time.
I found some the other day which was 1 cent for a hundred, but the shipping was five bucks, so it's the same thing.
The cheap ones from Wizard don't always bend appropriately. They are decent holders, but not the best. I get 100 plus a red box for 4.95 at my LCS, which is about 4 cents apiece as they sell the red box for a buck each. I only buy in bulk cent holders, I go to my LCS for anything else on a regular basis...always looking for deals when I go in, usually walk away with a tube or two of mixed uncirculated cents to sort through.
ebay seller "goodcents_2009" has 100 2x2's for $5.95 including shipping. They will sell 100 and let you pick/choose what sizes you want for that price. I've never ordered from them, but I found the listing this morning.
I bought a coin collector "starter kit" sort of thing from Whitman a while ago when they had it on special. It came with 600 2x2s of every denomination, plus some other things like a red book, magnifier, some harder type holders and coin tubes. I think it was a pretty decent price but this was like 5 years ago. Here it is for $29.95 (probably a decent deal considering you get the red book): https://whitman.com/Inventory/Detail/625-pc--Ultimate-Coin-Supply-Kit+626KIT
