Here are a couple capped bust halves I picked up last night in eBay. Neither quite makes the cut for the under $50 thread but both were close. I'm much more fond of the 1831 and a bit concerned about the surfaces of the 1833. Neither are rare overton varieties by my assessment.
I am just the opposite. I much prefer the 33. Yes, it has been cleaned (not whizzed, IMO), but so has the 31. And I don't like what looks like old graffiti on the reverse of the 31. Not to say I don't like the coins...I do. And for coins that just missed the $50.00 I would be happy with both.
The OP has seller's photos. I'll post more when the coins arrive so a better assessment of surfaces/graffiti/whizzing can be ascertained.
Trying to pin down the Overton variety on each of these. Is the 1831 0-118? I think the D/E T/I AND O/U alignments match but I am having a hard time confirming other characteristics. Here are images of an O-118 above my coin
Coins arrived today. I am happiest with the 1831. The blue toning was a pleasant surprise. Two photos of each with different lighting/background.
