Is there a group that deals with Capped Bust issues?
Specifically I'm interested with Capped Bust Quarters, Reduced Size (1831-1838).

I've got some questions about why I've run into a wall finding some of the Browning varieties.

Best to go ahead and ask your questions here. There are a couple capped bust guys.

Jaelus is probably your guy here on CoinTalk, but there are a few of us who specialize on capped material. What's your question?

Mostly my questions are on availability of various Browning varieties.
I'm looking for a complete Date/Browning Number set in VF-XF.
I understanding that there are about 5 (and definitely 1) that will be difficult to impossible to find.
The question that has me scratching my head the most is:

For 1837 Capped Bust Quarters there are 6 Browning varieties.
Except for B-1 which is an R-3 I can't find any of the other 5 varieties.
(I have what I've ID'ed as a B-2 (R-1) into PCGS for authentication and grading.)
    And I ignore the B-6 (no choice since it's a R-8; 2 known).
But the other 3 range from R-3 to R-5.
I should be able to find 1 or 2 of those.
But nary a one, not even outside my grade interest.

I have 23 of the 36 date/varieties and have created an NGC Custom Registry Set.
Not ready to post it yet since I haven't imaged them all.

The journals have decades of census data on these that might help you. Although Steve Tompkins wrote a census and sales data compilation book for bust quarters that has all of that data as well. I highly recommend it for research and pricing.

I can tell you though, 1837 is a very tough date. I've got a B-1 (R3) in AU50 and a B-3 (R4) in XF40, and that's it. I tried to pick up a B-3 in AU58 (ANACS) but it went way high. That was a couple years back. I've never seen a B-5 or B-6 in person.
