Good evening everyone. I have been searching ebay again for error coin deals. This time I stumbled upon something really stumps me. It is of a sba dollar which looks to have a clam shell lamination but a whole lot more which I cannot figure out . So please any experts or people with an idea what else this may be please comment. Thank you.

this is definately not coated in solder , the outer surface looks to be the coins original clad layer. I believe someone has been trying to remove the clad layers with a torch and got it too hot and ruined the clad layers. sometimes these removed clad layers sells for quite a bit on Ebay. this is just my opinion because I'm only going by what I see in the photos.

another possibility is maybe someone was trying to electroplate the coin with something like nickel or silver and goofed it up.

Either way you look at it, it appears to be PMD. Even the seller says he's not sure if it's possible. :D
