The proofs are nice, but I am partial to the mint state toners. To me, there is nothing like the cobalt blue iridescence of a supremely lustrous Jefferson war nickel.
Some of my tones Australia 1 Florin 1927 & Japan 100 Yen 1967. I really liked the swirls on the 100 Yen.
Nice and colorful Nickels all! I stopped by a local Shop (the deal in Musical Instruments, Guns, Coins, Jewelry and give Music lessons) last week to see what Tom (the Coin Dealer) had in the bargain bin. I picked up some nice Broadstruck and Off-Center Lincolns and although I usually pass on most of the Nickels, I just couldn't resist after seeing the toning on most of them. I picked up some beautifully toned Business Strike and Proof Nickels...most of which are in fairly high grades. I had totally forgotten about them until this Thread showed up. Maybe I can get some pictures and post them. Frank
