Canadian Toonie Collectibility

    Now I know the first rule of coin collecting is collecting thing you like, and I stand by that rule. I'd also, you know, like them to be worth something. That being said, it doesn't seem the Canadian toonies are very collectible (I'm no expert in world coins, or even US so I could be completely wrong) judging by prices. However, the following appears to be an extremely low mintage, and I'm wondering if the toonie is something that is likely to be valued higher in the future? I don't have any resource to know if this is as limited as it appears to be or what the typical mintage on something like this is (Don't worry. I'd like one either way its, just curious).

    The mintage is independent of collector demand. There are not enough modern two-dollar collectors out there...

    That said, the real demand from this set is the loon dollar from the dollar collectors, because it is the lowest mintage, base-metal, loon dollar made.
