Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Privy Marks?

Discussion in 'World Coins' started by CanadianCharles, Mar 7, 2009.

  1. I'm looking to start a complete collection of the Canadian Maple Leafs with all the Privy Marks, but don't know where to start.

Does anyone know where I can get a full list of all the marks from issue date to now?

    Thanks in advance!

I'd say find them in a K&M reference book.

The Charlton Standard Catalogue Canadian Coins 2009 (63rd edition) has an extensive list in it. A great book for all canadian coins! Good luck!:D

What a cool project. Good luck with that. I have a couple, my favorite being the 2005 Liberation of the Netherlands. This one has a tulip privy mark, with a release price of 45 bucks. Because of only a mintage of 3500, its now listing for 150 dollars.
Get this years Charlton, order it from amazon.com and you'll have it in 3 days max. Page 376 and 377 has them all listed.
I wish i could afford to get them all..i just love them

  6. Yea, I know this is gonna be an expensive project, but I think it will be worth it. These are pretty cool coins IMO and I like how they commemorate so many different events.

    Very nice 'De orc'.
Im not really into the market to collect these, but if I was, the one with the Titanic you have shown would be on the top of my list, without a doubt.

On another note, I mentioned the Liberation of the Netherlands one I have with a release price of 45 bucks. It looks like it was released entirely for the European market as that Charlton has it listed as 45 Euro's, nothing mentioned in Canadian dollars what so ever.

  12. Those are great coins De Orc!

I agree with Dollar, the Titanic one is probably one of my favorites also. I also like the D-Day one, its pretty cool.

Hi all, I am searching for more information on SML privy mark coins and stumble onto this forum.

Anyone can shed some light in the "F12" privy? Can't find any info on the RCM website but have seen the coin being offered on ebay.

    Thanks.

  15. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It stands for 'Fabulous 12', this coin was put in the Fabulous 12 Silver Collection, which was a set that basically had all the most collected silver coins. This coin was only made to be put into the Fabulous 12 Silver Collection, and there were only 5,000 of these coins minted just for that set.

    Appreciate the info.

I have found out about the 2007 Top 12 Silver Coins set, with the Silver Maple being the only coin that has this "F12" privy mark.

The only other silver coin that has this "F12" mark recently is the 2009 Australia Sunset Kangaroo, which is selling out fast due to low mintage of less than 5000.

What I find unusual is that the RCM did not officially mentioned about the "F12" privy and no mention of the mintage.
